Massive blocks of empty seats.
What was all that about?

Looked bad when we are supposed to have sold out.

Hermit,

I was going to say that as well, why were there a couple of blocks almost empty in the corners of the upper tiers?

They were not empty during the Domale & Juventus games.

Couldn't work it out. One next to the away fans, the other nowhere near them.

The Beeb have plastered pictures of them on our match report too.

It was a load of bible bashers who believe working on a Sunday is a sin so boycotted.

I take it these blocks make up the other 3k seats that we weren't allowed to sell because reasons

I was more concerned by the hundreds of seats the At were empty in amongst the fans

Hermit

Whoever wrote that been report is clearly a Spurs fan - little dig at the lack of atmosphere and comparison to the Emirates

Bbc reports are pretty awful now - even if there's 100 shits they only talk about 4 of them

Re: Massive blocks of empty seats.
It was possibly a ticket office fuck up as a few rows started to fill up in a couple of the blocks (there were some in the lower tier too) Bit embarrassing if they were simply unsold though.

There were HUNDREDS of people queuing at the TO when I went by at 3.15 so maybe folk gave up?

That's said the lad we dealt with after printed us up an ST card we were missing and sorted us paper tickets for Thursday to give to defjam which was fair enough.

Looked like professor Green an' all he did.

I enjoyed today.

Couldn't see it on Sky, the gap between rival supporters seemed small though.

On a positive note, it's nice not to see the away fans behind the goal, and out of view at last

It's because we were limited to 57,000 - after they had started to sell for 60,000 capacity. They had to withdraw blocks of seats that should have been on sale.

Official attendance today was 56,977.

Re: Massive blocks of empty seats.
Dotted seats happens everywhere. Sometimes people don't go for whatever reason.

The blocks of seats though were sold for precious games so I'd be surprised if they were part of the new allocation that was held back. I think those seats were at the back of the two ends.

As for the Beeb, you're probably right, but they had a picture which tells the story.

I thought the same Hermit.

The cynic in me wondered if it were linked to the lastminute.com debacle. Whole blocks was a bit suspect.

Re: Massive blocks of empty seats.
I was in that block - it was fucking embarrassing. Literally hundreds of empty seats right by me. On the plus side, I could jump up and get animated. On the negative side - I'd have looked a right cunt if I'd done that. But I still did.

Dicksie - you can go fuck yourself. That ground is a fucking disgrace. Never again.

The sad thing is, the fans really did their part and sang their hearts out, but it was like a few groups of geezers chanting in a huge park, The one and only loud and continuous chant to be heard was "is this the Emirates?". And that was Bournemouth.

Walking to the ground felt different, and a bit special - almost like a cup final. In the ground was a fucking disgrace.

I won't be going again - and I'm sure I won't be missed. Good luck to you all. I'm done with this.
